Honoring Lauren Geduld

“The best way to teach our children the importance of giving is to let them see us give.”

Born and raised in Miami, Lauren Geduld’s passion for service was sparked at a young age by her mother, Joyce, who actively involved her in charitable committees and fostered a love for giving by teaching her to sell raffle tickets at events. This early introduction to philanthropy shaped Lauren’s lifelong commitment to family and community. Alongside her husband, Steven, and daughters, Madison (17) and Morgan (14), Lauren embodies a deep personal philosophy: true giving is not just about writing a check, it requires showing up, getting involved, and using your time and voice to make a tangible difference.

Lauren’s journey with JAFCO began when a friend, Sasha Goldsmith, invited her to an event. Watching the presentation video made an immediate, profound impact on her heart, revealing a powerful opportunity to advocate for vulnerable children in her own community. Since that day, she started helping to support JAFCO with yearly sponsorships of the Aventura Chanukah Miracles Luncheon to make sure the children would experience a beautiful holiday. Lauren & Steven are also proud JAFCO Godparents and upon completion of their initial pledge, they extended a new Godparent commitment as a gift to their daughter Madison.

Ultimately, Lauren’s desire to help others inspired her daughter, Madison, to establish a JAFCO chapter at University School, ensuring the family’s legacy of love and leadership flourishes in the next generation.

Lauren’s energy and dedication are evident in everything she does, and together with Madison they annually organize a Chanukah gift-wrapping drive that brings together over 75 high school students as well as additionally coordinating essential summer camp supply drives.

Lauren’s extensive philanthropic footprint extends widely across South Florida, where she serves on multiple Boards of Directors and committees. In her personal time, she enjoys collecting art and practicing Pilates, but she is truly happiest when sharing her home with family and friends. A natural host, Lauren loves bringing people together, whether she is planning an elegant dinner party or a lively backyard barbecue.

While she enjoys these personal passions, Lauren remains deeply anchored in her mission to help others. For Lauren, being honored by JAFCO serves as a meaningful reflection of her often quiet dedication. It is a reminder of the safe haven being provided for children and families during their darkest hours, and a celebration of the lasting example of service she passes down to her daughters. She is most proud of her family, striving daily to show her girls that true success is measured by how you show up for others.

Together, Lauren and her family bring generosity, compassion, and unwavering commitment to everything they touch, especially JAFCO. It is a true privilege to formally recognize Lauren Geduld’s dedication to our community as our 2026 Chanukah Miracles honoree.
